"Our challenge here is the removal of asphalt and the money involved and utilizing the Zipper. 1,000 feet trench, which is 2,000 feet linear foot saw cut, would be $2.80 per linear foot. Plus the amount of loads of chunked asphalt I have to get rid of. 2,000 feet linear at $2.80-3.00, you're in the ballpark of $6,000, just in saw cutting. They're also here a day and a half saw cutting. Then I have to remove that and that is about 7-10 loads of asphalt at $380 a load. Now with the Zipper I only lose the operator with the machine, two laborers. That 1,000 feet I have done in less than three hours. Three hours cleaned up put back in the trench, tamped, rolled and I don't have to worry about plating it. I can even let the traffic ride over it. If you have an asphalt job, make sure you use that Zipper."
