Asphalt Zipper completed a demo project for the City of Dallas, TX in in October 2021 and we were so impressed with the unit that we ordered three (3) total units (1–AZ720Xi and 2–AZ420X) which were delivered in early 2022. The 72” zipper is utilized for primarily for smaller street projects and the 42” units are primarily utilized for our alley reclamation program. We are excited to expand our operations with the small, compact, but powerful reclaimers that allow us to stretch our dollars with the cost savings. Jacob McCarroll, City of Dallas Third Tier Executive.
We’ve used the Asphalt Zipper on numerous projects within Archer Co in the two years we’ve had it, rehabbing gravel roads as well as full depth reclamation. The minor issues we encountered when we first began to use it was taken care of immediately with just a phone call to Barry. Since then, it has worked flawlessly. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results we’ve experienced. We couldn’t be happier with the service we’ve received from Barry and Asphalt Zipper. Wade Scarbrough, Archer County Commissioner
The City of McKinney had a demo done by Asphalt Zipper back in Sept. 2019 and we were so impressed with the ease to work with the Zipper and the cost saving that it was a no-brainer for us. The capabilities to reclaim/grind and pulverize the pavement and turn it into a reusable material called RAP (Recycled Asphalt Product) was so appealing. No more trips to take the old asphalt that we dug out the conventional way, using a Backhoe or Gradall and then take that to the landfill. The cost and labor for that was cut in half or more! Plus, now we were able to use the leftover RAP for building a road base for any other projects that we had.
The Asphalt Zipper (we bought the 480Xi 260 HP) has been the best money that we have ever spent to rehab the asphalt roadway, from a practical and budgetary standpoint. We no longer have to wait to schedule someone else to get our asphalt roads milled or reclaimed! Eddie Garza, City of McKinney Street Superintendent.
Asphalt Zipper has transformed our road maintenance program. we reclaim roads instead of rebuilding them. Potholes have become indicators of road health. Reusing material we already own, roads are reclaimed instead of rebuilt at a fraction of the cost. Kevin Thompson, City of El Campo TX Public Works Director
